About Me

Hi, I’m Shirley — The Wize Nutritionist. I’m passionate about helping people transition to gluten-free and cleaner eating patterns that actually fit their lifestyle. My approach combines practical food education with targeted vitamins, minerals, and herbal support so you can build sustainable vitality at any age.

Whether you’re newly diagnosed with celiac disease, exploring gluten sensitivity, or simply want to feel better with smarter nutrition, I’ll meet you where you are and guide you step-by-step.

My story with natural health began in 2005 when I was diagnosed as a Latent Celiac. I was experiencing acid reflux, bloating, weight gain, constipation, diarrhea, fatigue, and other unfriendly health issues. After being diagnosed with IBS for three years and my doctor telling me it was stress, I did some research and told my doctor what I had found. He ordered a blood test for Celiac Disease (CD). Long story short, he sent me to a gastroenterologist that specialized in CD. The gastro doctor did further testing with a colonoscopy, an endoscopy and more blood draws. I ended up not having CD, but I had a gluten intolerance. The gastro doctor labeled me a Latent Celiac because I had negative testing, but positive symptoms. He said gluten is an issue in your body, but it isn’t to the point yet where your villi are damaged. He strongly recommended I stay away from gluten, which was ok because I was sick of being sick.

Ten years later I started having further health issues while living in Central California. Doctors couldn’t find what was wrong with me and finally one of them suggested I take a food sensitivities test. This test alone totally changed my life because it helped me identify foods that my body was having trouble with. I then started having liver issues and hormonal challenges. I was introduced to Dr. James Miles when we returned to Texas and he was a gift from God!

I worked for Dr. Miles for three years and he encouraged me to get my Doctor of Natural Health diploma. While working for him and going to school, my husband and I bought an online dietary supplement company, ExtendedHealth.com. We owned this company for over four years and I consulted with over 300 customers throughout the U.S. before COVID shut us down. I also had the opportunity to reformulate our popular two-part, 60-ingredient heart detox supplement and I will be forever grateful to my manufacturer who taught me about ingredients, their forms, and the vital roles they play in dietary supplements.

Due to my experiences with my own health, my education as a Doctor of Natural Health, and working with a naturopath while owning a dietary supplement company, I have a well-rounded understanding of natural health. I believe God gave me all my experiences and education so I can fulfill His purpose for me — to help others.

I have assisted men, women, kids, and even animals, and I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to help you too. However, if I think you would be better served by a chiropractor, functional medicine, or integrative medicine doctor, I will tell you and help you find one in your area. Although I work strictly with natural therapies, I believe these doctors play a very important role in our health.

I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to visit with you and help you in any way I can. Call me and let’s talk!
